filtered gallery with current user login and update back to SP list

Hello all,

I have a gallery called vendor list. when I input some data into the gallery information I want to update back two fields information back to SharePoint list.

the gallery am showing filter with current user logged in: Filter('Vendor', User().Email= SME.Email)

Powerappgal1.png

When I hit on submit it should update back to the list the Quality percentage(number field type) and Final value(text field). Note: the Final value is a Expenses*TextInput1 and also SME, DEPTID, Expenses, Quality percentage and final value are labels above the gallery.

I guess I need to use forall and patch function. but am getting error, might be my formulae is wrong.

Can any one help me on this? would be much appriciated!!!

Thanks

Saanv

Re: filtered gallery with current user login and update back to SP list

Hi @Saan ,

Do you mean that you set textinput1's format to Number like this:

1157.PNG

If so, you still need to use "Textinput1.Text" to represent the value in the textinput1.

And "Textinput1.Text" still represents text type. Just you could only enter number in the textinput.

If 'Quality Percentage' is text type, please try this:

ForAll(RenameColumns(Gallery1.AllItems,"ID","ID1"),Patch('Vendor', LookUp('Vendor',ID=ID1),{'Quality Percentage': TextInput1.Text}))

If 'Quality Percentage' is number type, please try this:

ForAll(RenameColumns(Gallery1.AllItems,"ID","ID1"),Patch('Vendor', LookUp('Vendor',ID=ID1),{'Quality Percentage': Value(TextInput1.Text)}))

Re: filtered gallery with current user login and update back to SP list

I have tried this

ForAll(RenameColumns(Gallery1.AllItems,"ID","ID1"),Patch('Vendor', LookUp('Vendor',ID=ID1),{'Quality Percentage': TextInput1}))

with help of this link https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-Power-Apps/Update-PowerApps-Gallery-to-SharePoint-List/...

But got run time error: Requet operation is invalid. Server response: Object must implement IConvertable. ClientRequestid: xxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks,

Re: filtered gallery with current user login and update back to SP list

Hi @Saan,

This issue could possibly be as simple as ForAll(RenameColumns(Gallery1.AllItems,"ID","ID1"),Patch('Vendor', LookUp('Vendor',ID=ID1),{'Quality Percentage': TextInput1.Text}))

If you try to submit TextInput1 without anything after it, you are actually referencing the text input control, not the value that it holds in its text property.

Hello @chrisog ,

Actually the textinput1 is a number type. so I kept that. but after your suggestion even tried keeping .Text. still facing the same runtime error.

Thanks,
