filtering gallery based off sharepoint lookup field

I have a gallery that displays a SharePoint list called "devices" devices has a field called "client" which is a lookup field to another list.

I want to filter the list "devices" based on the client name in the "client" field. The option doesn't seem to be there to even display the clients field and Filter( Devices, clients = TextInput.text ) Doesn't work.

Is there any way to filter that list based on the lookup field or display the lookup field?

@rowanpeek

Does the lookup column show the client's name?  If yes, then please add .Value to the column name.

Filter( Devices, clients.Value = TextInput.text )

If no, please supply enough information for me to re-create your issue.

Thanks for the reply @mdevaney ,

yeah the lookup field does show the clients name.

Unfortunately Filter(Passwords, Clients.value = inputtext.value) didn't work for me.

Some more info that I can give is that the lookup field is on the main site (https://ourcompany.sharepoint.com), and the list "devices" is on a sub-site (https://ourcompany.sharepoint/devices/). The lookup field 'Clients' connects to the 'Title' field on a list called clients on the main site.

I'm using a gallery which is connected to the devices list and an text input called inputtext which I'm trying to use to filter the devices list by the client field. I've also tried filtering manually without the text input box to no success.

It might be worth mentioning that when I try to choose which fields to display on the gallery clients is not there:

If you need any more info please let me know.

@rowanpeek

My code above doesn't say Client.Value = inputvalue.value.  It says Client.Value = TextInput.Text.  Please try the code I gave and let me know the result.

Sorry about that.

I'm still getting the same issue. See below:

@rowanpeek
Capitalize the letter 'V' in Clients.Value

Hi @mdevaney,

Same result unfortunately.

@rowanpeek
OK, please type Clients. then show me what the auto-type suggests.  It should show you all of the available column names to FILTER on.

Not sure if you mean like this, or like this, but either one shows nothing:

Just to show that is definitely the name of the column:

One thing I should mention is that it's a site column lookup. I'm not sure if these are even compatible with power apps. A lookup column on the same site works fine.
