Re: how to renaming file attachment using powerapps

Hi @PytByt ,

I'm afraid it's not supported to rename attachments currently in PowerApps.

The file's name is the same as the original file's name by default.

I suggest you express your views on PowerApps Ideas Forum. Your precious advice will be very helpful for our work.

As alternative way, I suggeat you use Flow to make this.

Re: how to renaming file attachment using powerapps

Hey @PytByt
i don't know whether you still need a solution but i created a straight forward workaround by creating the filename by concatenating the individual strings from the previous Comboboxes.

After that the user has to copy that name to clipboard and rename it prior the upload...Only if the filename is equal the concatenated string it is possible to to save the new row in the sharepoint list.

I think this is a very nasty way to solve this but for my problem it was the lesser of the two evils...Using a flow for this simple problem is a pain in the a** in my opinion.

A small advantage of this workaround is that the local files, even if they should be deleted after uploading (which certainly not every end user does in my organization), have at least the same name as at the central data point...

Maybe it helps you 🙂
