iPhone scrolling form "jumps" BUG(?)

I have a form that is exhibiting weird behavior and its upsetting the users. Any help would be appreciated.

Scenario

  • iPhone, using the PowerApps app
  • User completes the first 9-10 fields of the form without issue
    • Includes a date picker, dropdowns and text boxes
  • On field 11, 13, and a few others (40 field form), when the user selects an item from the dropdown menu, THE APP "JUMPS" BACK UP TO FIELD 1.
    • User has to scroll back down the screen to pick up where they left off.
  • You can imagine this gets old after happening a few times.

Troubleshooting so far:

  • All Data Card "Y" properties are set sequentially from 0 - 40.
  • All input fields (dropdowns, textboxes, datepicker, etc) have "TabIndex" properties set sequentially from 0 - 40.

There is nothing special about the affected dropdowns. What am I missing?

Thank you

I'm having a similar issue.  Have you had any resolution?

I have not. I thought including the word "BUG" in the Subject would get some attention, but I'm not sure it does. My users are pretty frustrated.

Re: iPhone scrolling form "jumps" BUG(?)

That's a pity.

Does it only happen once you're past the original bit of the screen?  That is the case for mine.

I've seen several other threads where folks are advocating for more scroll controls, namely being able to reset the scroll when a form is reset (so users end up back at the top).  Our need is the inverse, but having some control over it would solve the issue.

Not sure if the gist of this will come through in the GIF but hopefully. (Can't show app publicly.)

You're correct, only happens when I'm a ways down the screen.

Hi,

A fix has been shipped by this point--and a few other users have reported this issue is resolved for them. Can you confirm if you are still experiencing this jumping issue?

Re: iPhone scrolling form "jumps" BUG(?)

Hi @mr-dang, I can confirm this iPhone "jump" issue still exists. On Monday I rolled an app out to ~315 users at my company. The iPhone "jump" issue was included in a "known issues and troubleshooting" video. Today (7/4/18), I received the following message from a User:

"Concerns:

Every time I select a dropdown box I was returned to the top fo the page. Page really lagged when trying to scroll from top to bottom"

The problem is exactly illustrated in @ericonline's post/video above.

Is there additional information I could gather from the user on this?

Thanks

Hi @seadude,

In the event that you encounter an issue, it is a good practice to have a sessionid ready:

I'm having another issue on iPhone where I can't open an app. Once its selected from the PowerApps list, it just sits on "Opening" forever. Never opens. I just updated to iOS 11.4 and the problem went away for 2 days post-update. Now its back.

Regarding this second issue, it is a good idea to start a new thread so that it does not steer the current thread off-topic or get buried because it is off-topic with the rest.

Re: iPhone scrolling form "jumps" BUG(?)

Hi @seadude @ericonline,

At the time of my last posting, the fix may not have been rolled out to all regions yet--apologies for getting that wrong. Can you clarify what version you are on?

Yessir. We're on version 3.18064.30. Just reinstalled today from Apple Store and confirmed the issue still exists.
