I am confused on why it is stopping at the dash and expecting something else. Is the dash itself the problem? Or am I referring to something wrong?

You could set “product” property of “Add a new row” Action to “logical_name(guid of row)”.
Based on your description, I have made a simple test for your reference.

Ah I wasn't using the logical name... that was what I needed. But I did learn from your implementation so thank you very much for the effort you put into this answer! Its much appreciated
