photo attachments and PDF attachments

We have a form that is submitting data to an excel sheet. How does this work if we want to attach a photo or a PDF to the form submission? We would like to avoid using Azure or anything complicated if possible.

Hi@HubSteel,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, do you want to submit a form to Excel with attachments like photos or PDFs?

Actually, if you want to send photo or PDF to excel, you should add corresponding columns in Excel. Currently, you can achieve your needs with the Image column within Excel in PowerApps.

The image column in Excel can save data with kinds of types. In order to make it work with Power Apps, the column name to store the images must be "XXXX [image]" in the excel table. There should be a space between XXXX and [image]. You can check the following article for reference.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/add-images-pictures-audio-video

I have a test on my side, please take a try as below.

  • Add an Image column in Excel, please make sure that you format the column as: Picture [image]
  • Save this Excel table and upload it to OneDrive.
  • Create an app and connect to this Excel table. Add a form and corresponding fields from excel.
  • Set the OnSelect property of the Button as below

SubmitForm(Form1)

Note: The file saved to Image column in Excel can be found in OneDrive folder “Attanchment_images”

Except for photo and PDF, the Image column in Excel can also save the format of word and excel.

Hi,

I recommend using SharePoint and pulling the table into PowerApps and then using the attachments process to accomplish what you want.

If you want I can get on a teams meeting with you and show you a few examples.
