populate textinput control with data from collection

I am trying to populate collection data into textinputs, dropdown controls, and radial controls that is in a gallery to whatever the user check in a checkbox from another screen.  The data is first collected from these same controls which is stored in a collection.  It then goes to a display screen where it allows users to check if the data they entered is what they want to store.  There is a checkbox for each record, and if checked, a button to allow them to modify.  The modify button should bring them back to the gallery that contains the controls, and populate the data for them to modify.  I couldn't find the formula to do that from the modify onselect property.  Thanks.

Re: populate textinput control with data from collection

Hi @mahakala_ ,

In your app, it will be an edit screen with edit form control to collect data to a collection. (edit form with NewForm() mode.)

A browse screen with a gallery control to show all the records of this collection.

Then on browser screen, there should be buttons inside the gallery for each record to navigate to the edit screen when selecting. (edit form with EditForm() mode.)

This could be achieved by setting below formulas:

Button1.OnSelect=EditForm(EditForm1);Navigate(EditScreen1, ScreenTransition.None)

Button1 is the button control in each record of Gallery1 control.

Re: populate textinput control with data from collection

Hi Mona,

Thanks for your response and sorry for taking long to reply.  Initially I did use an edit form, however I was not able to find and connect a collection as a data source.  I have read in forums that powerapps does not allow collections as datasource, especially from an edit form.  That was the reason why i just added  controls manually into a normal screen, that way i can connect to a collection.  Unless there is another way to connect to a collection from an edit form. If so please let me know. Thanks.
