powerapps form with hyperlink from sharepoint list data

Morning Everyone,

I have a sharepoint list and one of the fields calculate the location of the list attachements using the formula and the result is a text in the following format with the sharepoint column name as "AttachmentLink"

\\x.sharepoint.com@SSL\DavWWWRoot\sites\x\Lists\Tracker\Attachments\13

Could you please advise the steps on how I can make the above data visible as a hyperlink and can be clicked?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Regards

Shaheen

Re: powerapps form with hyperlink from sharepoint list data

Hi @Anonymous

Apologies for the delay, however I also agree with @v-micsh-msft as the best approach to take from PowerApps. This will result in the most perfomant response for attachments. The good news is that you don't need to create any calculated columns in SharePoint to link into attachments. You would just reference them in the formulas. You can show the name of the file, as well as create a hyperlink to the file attachment. I'm including a link to a video that discusses how I put attachments into a collection, then show them in a clickable gallery. I'm thinking you might pick up a few helpful points in that video.

Re: powerapps form with hyperlink from sharepoint list data

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share more details about the calculation of the AttachmentLink?

Besides, when connected to SharePoint list, there is a way to display the Attachment by the following way:

First(First(List1).'{Attachments}').AbsoluteUri

Add the line above with an Image control, it will show the first attachment of the first item in list1.

If you would like to show all the attachments with a special item, then please consider take use of an image gallery, for example:

Under the Image gallery items property, enter the following:

First(List1).'{Attachments}'

Then within the Image control, under the image prperty, specify the code as below:

ThisItem.AbsoluteUri

Would make it work.

Re: powerapps form with hyperlink from sharepoint list data

Thanks and apologies Micheal for confusing you with the Attachment usage in my context. The link to the attachment folder is in the below specified format and that is the content of the column and will change with each item (XX changes based on the item ID parameter)

"\\x.sharepoint.com@SSL\DavWWWRoot\sites\x\Lists\Tracker\Attachments\XX"

Would you able to advise what we could do to show the above output as a hyperlink and that can be clicked?

Shaheen
