prevent editing of item if workflow running

I am trying to prevent users from editing items if the workflows are running.

I have 5 workflows that run after each change to the item.  I added a field called "Workflow Status" and set it to "Active" at the beginning of each workflow and "Inactive" at the bottom.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks

Edited;

Your could use a pop up

1. OnVisible Set a variable:

 UpdateContext( { active: false} )

2. Insert a rectangle (enlarge it to cover screen)

3. Set the visible of the rectangle to:

  active

4. On the button to start the flow:

UpdateContext( { active: true } ) ;Yourflow();UpdateContext( {active: false} )
