"Dropdown" powered by excel fails to pass its values to a collection.

The following dropdown is "powered" by an excel file. I want that when I select one of the values in the dropdown and press the add button, my selection is reflected in the collection on the right.

If I type the values in the dropdown manually, my idea works. When I connect the dropdown to excel, it stops working. what am I doing wrong?

@SeteGonz Can you put ProgramsDropDownForm2_1.Selected.Value in a label and see what you get.

@SeteGonz How are you loading the Excel data into the DropDown? What it's in the Items property of the DropDown?
