"Failed to load [data source]. An error occurred on the server."

On loading of my application I get red error message banner.  The message is as follows:

"Failed to load [data source]. An error occurred on the server. Server response: An error occurred when trying to create a controller of type 'SharePointListTableDataController'.  Make sure that the controller has a prameterless public constructor."

[data source] could be any one of the data sources I use (about 7 SharePoint Online lists).  Which one shows up is reasonably random.  Sometimes it doesn't appear to affect the operation of the application, other times some buttons will be broken, or I won't be able to change/submit data.

Hi Stabernz,

To reproduce this issue, could you provide more information about:
1. Do you run the app on mobile device or Windows or Web browser?
2. How many data contained in your data source?
3. Is your app based on 7 SharePoint lists?
4. How often do you get this error?

I create an app based 1 SharePoint list, I run it on iPhone, Windows, and Edge, I don’t get any error message.

Sorry for the late reply:

1) All of those.

2) About 120 list items in 2 of the lists, 100 in another, and about 20 in the remaining lists.

3) Yes that's correct.

4) It's quite random - but maybe once every 3 to 5 times the data source refreshes.  I can't seem to find any set pattern to this behaviour.

Hi Stabernz,

Thanks for your reply. According to your description, I create an app based on 6 Share Point lists, in the app, I have different controls and functions.

Then I run the app on Windows, Phone and Web browser for many times, so far, I don’t get any error messages like yours.

I guess there should be an issue related to your SharePoint list, what are the column types in your lists? Currently, not all types of columns are supported, and not all types of columns support all types of card. For more details, please see this article as below:

Hi @v-yamao-msft and @stabernz,

Old post but all of a sudden one of my apps are getting the same error trying to connect to a SP list.

Its been working for months without errors. Then suddenly getting this error.

Only on phones not when running from desktop.

SharePointListTableDataController. Make sure that the controller has a prameterless public constructor

Has there been any "big" changes to SP tenants/lists this week?

I got this messge on another test tenant yesterday, but today its gone:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_o365admin-mso_manage/onedrive-and-sites-...

The app I am refering to is not connecting to this test tenant above, just pointed out something that might the cause for this issue.

Forgot to say that this is a very simple list:

Not only on phones also on the desktop version.

I have the same problem. When I run my app (on the desktop or on phone) I have this error.

Might be that removing the source and readding it works. Just testing it now.

Still same issue after readding the source.
