tabbed view with multiple datasource with single filter

Hi,

I have an app with 7 tabs(forms)pointing to 2 different tables. They both have a primary key of opportunity id. I would like to create a combo box/dropdown that can filter all the tabs based on the opportunityid.

havent seen much resources for this out there yet for this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Could you please show more details about the 7 tabs that you mentioned? Are they all Edit forms?

Further, do you want to display detail info from two different tables within the 7 Edit forms based on the same opportunityid value (picked from a ComboBox)?

Are there same opportunityid value existed in your two different Tables?

Based on the needs that you mentioned, I think the Filter function in PowerApps could achieve your needs. I have made a test on my side, please consider take a try with the following workaround:

1.  Set the OnStart property of the App to following:

ClearCollect( /* <-- Merge the opportunityid value from Table1 and Table2 into a collection */
             OpportunityIdCollection,
             Table1.opportunityid,
             Table2.opportunityid
)

2. Add a ComboBox (ComboBox1)in your app, set the Items property to following:

Distinct(OpportunityIdCollection, opportunityid)

set the SelectMultiple property to following:

false

3. Set the Item property of the Edit form which connects to your first Table (Table1) to following:

LookUp(Table1, opportunityid = ComboBox1.Selected.Result)

Set the Item property of the Edit form which connects to your first Table (Table2) to following:

LookUp(Table2, opportunityid = ComboBox1.Selected.Result)

Please consider take a a try with above solution, then re-load your app (fire the OnStart property of App), check if the issue is solved.

I tried the option you gave me. It seems to be only editing tab 1. Here are the details requested.

Tab 1: Table 1(view only)

Tab2: Table 2(view with editable gallery)

Tab3: Table 2(view with editable gallery)

Tab4: Table 2(view with editable gallery)

Tab5: Table 2(view with editable gallery)

Tab6: Table 2(view with editable gallery)

Further, do you want to display detail info from two different tables within the 7 Edit forms based on the same opportunityid value (picked from a ComboBox)? Yes

Are there same opportunityid value existed in your two different Tables? Yes

I'm using a dropdown box but i dont think that is the issue why its not filtering the data in tab2-6 based on the selected opportunity ID

Nevermind. It works. I had some fields in tab 2-6 doing lookups based on the gallery I was previously using as a filter. I now have it pointing to the dropdown box. Thanks soo much for your help.
