writing the same information as another datacard

Hi

I have a Name field (Person field in SPO) and a date field, when a user is completing my form, which is a canvas app linked to SPO list, I'd like the same data that is entered in: DataCardValue20_2 to be written to DataCardValue28_2 (so the same person to be copied over to another datacard, rather than getting users to type this in when they get to different parts of the form)

And the same with Date and Time field if that is possible with date and time fields?

I also am tying to change an invisible field which updates the status of my form, but I have now a different scenario where, i'd like it to auto update to 'Part A Rejected' if the DataCardValue22_2 is set to Rejected, and change to 'Part B Complete' if DataCardValue22_2 is set to Accepted, I am using a toggle for this.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Generally if you want to copy onto another: in the default property of DataCardValue28_2 Put : DataCardValue28_1.Text

This will copy whatever in DataCardValue28_1 into DataCardValue28_2. For datefield, it will be DatePicker2 will be DatePicker1.SelectedDate

@eka24

I've tried your suggestion and entered on DatacardValue28_2 the following under the default property but it doesn't write to that datacard, I've submitted the form and gone back to view it but field is empty:

DataCardValue20_2.Selected

and tried this

DataCardValue20_2.Selected.Value

It's a person field, does this need to use a different fx ?

I've tried the date field and that works

@eka24

Afraid due to the tightly secured env. i work in, i cannot take pic of the form, but its a normal edit form.

When I enter DataCardValue20_2.Selected in the Default property of the datacard it doesn't complain, but it doesn't copy over the information found in DataCardValue20_2... my only guess is it's due to be a person field type?

Hope it helps.

Hi @eka24

Is this the correct way of getting what is in the person field in DataCardValue20_2 into DataCardValue28_2 by patching DataCardValue28_2 field with what was mentioned in the video, excluding the gallery bit as it doesn't work for me

Patch(ListName,{Person: DataCardValue20_2.Selected})

I get a red line and it states

The specified 'Person' does not exist

The function patch has some invalid arguments

any ideas?

It unfortunate you can't send a screenshot. Making this a little long. The problem is the name of the column in your list. I dont know whether the columnName is Person in your list. And is your list named as ListName? as you have stated in the patch.
Using Excel as an example cant you upload and image of your table. Just do a replica table of your real table and send. A private message can be done where necessary

HI @eka24

apologies.

I think I have it... but which property do I need to set this on... as its not a button so cant be OnSelect. I tried default property, but patch wont work on it?

if is patch then then it should be Onselect of a button or an Icon.
