you can create an application that works in the background like GPS?

Hello, you can create an application that reports to me from time to time the location of the user in the background?

What you'll find is that Power Apps can support logging/transmitting multiple positions using the Location() function, but the OS on most mobile devices will stop the app when the user chooses another app or after a certain amount of time. One reason they do this is for battery management, and activating the positioning features of a mobile device tends to use quite a lot of power. So, don't expect this kind of app to run well (if at all) in the background.

Hope this helps,

Bryan

So it can vary the one that worked or not the background depending on the cell phone?

It's the operating system on the mobile device that presents the barrier, and Power Apps is not able to access OS functionality at the required level to change it. Your app will work great only if the device is kept active and stays on the app screen.

Hey,

To anyone out there looking to get this working. I found that it works well using an audio control with a silent track running in the background. You must set it to Auto Start and Loop and add your location tracking function in the On End function.

You will also need to add PowerApps to the "Never Sleeping Apps" list on your Android device (did not test it for iOS yet). It keeps tracking the location, however it is not the "PRECISE" location, which defeats the entire purpose of this endeavor. Not sure if you can have some sort of workaround for this.
