Re: Attachment control

Hi @VivekBhatt ,

The blog that you mentioned is created at Jan 18, 2019 (Please check the creation time of the blog on your side). Since that time, there are some updates within the Attachments control in PowerApps.13.JPG

Currently, the Attachments control is only available in SP List and CDS Entities. And you could only use the Attachments control within the Data forms (Edit form and Display form).

@VivekBhatt

Attachment Control used to be available as a seperate control.  Now it is only available within Forms.

You can also see a little more discussion about this in this post.

I hope this is helpful for you.

Re: Attachment control

Hi @VivekBhatt ,

Could you please share a bit more about your issue?

Currently, within PowerApps, the Attachments control would not be acted as a separated control. Instead, the Attachments control is only available within Data forms (Edit form and Display form).

In addition, the Attachments functionality is only supported in SP Lists and Common Data Service (CDS) Entities.

More details about the limits in Attachments control in PowerApps, please check the following article:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/controls/control-attachments#limitation...

@VivekBhatt

While yes, the article you read is old, the fact remains that you can use an Attachment control by itself outside of a Form and without SharePoint.  @v-xida-msft remarks that you must have a form and SharePoint are not correct.  You must have both to start with (need to put an EditForm on the screen with a SharePoint datasource with attachments), but after that you can copy the Attachment Control where you like and remove the datasource and the EditForm.

Not buying it?...take a look at the attached application.  It has two controls, an Attachment Control and a Gallery to display the attachments in the Attachment Control.  No datasources and no Forms.

So, while it is no longer in the control list to insert, it is still usable in other ways...currently!

Re: Attachment control

Hi Randy,

I tried to use this but i am not able to push the data with this to sharepoint list.

Do you know how we can push data using this control to Sharepoint List Attachment.

TRM is my sharepoint list.

Re: Attachment control

@VivekBhatt

Yes, this is very true.  Currently there is no way to alter attachments with a Patch function.  If you are actually needing to update Attachments in a record, you must use an EditForm to do so.

However, as mentioned, the attachment control is still available as a control and can be used alone, but not for the purposes of Attachments in a SharePoint list (as that would imply a Patch function would be needed).
