Can't find DataCardValue for listbox in an edit form

I am new to powerapps and I have a feeling this may be a simple issue to resolve. I can't find the data card I am using for the list box in the data cards update field.
That is if my listbox is in DataCard1 in the update field I can't find DataCardValue1 which is what I think I need in order to make the choices submit properly.

Please help!

Thanks

Re: Can't find DataCardValue for listbox in an edit form

Hi @BrunoC,

Would you please share more detail about the fields that the ListBox is used for, and some information about the Data Source here?

Also please share a screenshot for the Update property of the ListBox DataCard, with the Advanced  settings.

Further, currently PowerApps does not support fields which has multiple selections enabled. If the field that you are working with has multiple selection enabled, then it is not available for PowerApps to Update that field, at least currently.

Regards,

Michael

Re: Can't find DataCardValue for listbox in an edit form

Thank you for your resposne. I have attached the data card and the listbox form in but I believe that you have addressed the reason this isn't working as I am trying to update with a multiple selection.

To give some more background I am connecting to an excel spreadsheet and I am simply wanting to follow the same flow as the template to edit and create new records. However I have used patch to update multiple sceens at one, but I have tested this and it is working correctly.

Do you know of any work around I can try to get a multiple selection update on a form or am I essentially forced to a single selection drop down?

I have had to blind some inputs but I have followed the structure in the template.

Thanks again.

Re: Can't find DataCardValue for listbox in an edit form

Hi @BrunoC,

If for Excel Multiple selection, I think we could workaround it with the following way.

1. Add the Listbox control,

2. Specify the items property of the ListBox control with the following structure:

Table({Data:1},{Data:2},{Data:3},{Data:4},{Data:5},{Data:6})

3. Modify the Update property of the DataCard control with the following line:

Left(Concat(ListBox1.SelectedItems,Data&","),Len(Concat(ListBox1.SelectedItems,Data&","))-1)

This would update the Excel cell with a string with multiple selections.

Concat function add all the items of the selected item into one string, then left function removes the end ',' of the string.

Check to see if this would work for you.

Regards,

Michael

Re: Can't find DataCardValue for listbox in an edit form

Hi @v-micsh-msft,

Thanks for your reply it has been very helpful!

Just to generalise how would the update section work if I am populating the items in the  listBox with something like:

Distinct(table,data)

Thanks again for your help!
