Data Input in Power BI

Hi all,

I am trying to create 4 input cost/amounts for user to key in, then use this amount to further calculate and compare against historical data in database(if it exceed or within cost).

I managed to use input parameter for such purpose but it is fairly slow and and limited (i dont want to create up to million possible values).

I read somewhere that we can do it using powerapps? Anyone here can guide me on this? To create the input fields in powerapps, then embedded it into power bi and somehow power bi to read the values in input field and calculate further thru power bi?

Really appreciate any help here.

Regards

CS

Re: Data Input in Power BI

Hi @ChongSeng83 ,

Did you mean that you want to pass the input from PowerApps into Power Bi Report Level Filters? If so, please try to use the methods in the “Pass a Parameter” section of the Power BI tile docs:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/controls/control-power-bi-tile#pass-a-p...

Regards,

Mona

Re: Data Input in Power BI

Thanks Mona,

I tried read thru and am not too sure if that is similar to what I had in mind. So let's say in a bi report, I embed a power apps that reads in user input as cost. Let's say I keyed in 1000 in the power apps that is embedded in power bi. Can this 1000 be used as part of calculation or measure in power bi?
