Etag Mismatch With Patch & SubmitForm

I have came across below problem.

A form with both numeric (problem) and text fields(good)

When modify the numeric field say delete all and subimit form the change will not be reflected.

So I try to use Patch & IsBlank to update blank numeric fields to 0 and then SubmitForm.

But a second problem come with Etag Mismatch.

I can not just along use the patch function 1. due to large number of fields in the form 2. need to capture the content entered for text fields.

Is there any other method to update blank datacard value other than Patch?

Re: Etag Mismatch With Patch & SubmitForm

Hi @Titiwai

Can you try to enable the below setting in your application:

App Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Formula Level Error Management -> Turn this on.

This will let you patch blank values to the data source.

Hope this Helps!

Re: Etag Mismatch With Patch & SubmitForm

Hi @Titiwai ,

I've made a similar test and met the same problem like your description.

The reason why you met this problem is that : " "  is a text type, while the field is a number type.

So I suggest you use If statement.

If the textinput is empty, then update value with 0.

I suggest you set every field that you want to update with empty value's Update:

If(!IsBlank(DataCardValue7.Text),Value(DataCardValue7.Text),0)

Please replace DataCardValue7 with its control's name.

Then, if you clear the data in the textinput, this field will update with "0".

Re: Etag Mismatch With Patch & SubmitForm

Thank you. What is the odds this experimental feature would be kept?  I mean a bit worry about the risk of having to seek for alternatives six months down the track.

Re: Etag Mismatch With Patch & SubmitForm

Hey @Titiwai

No need to worry about this. Due to consistency by default this setting is disabled. This will soon be out from the experimental feature. You can rely on it and move forward.

Hope this Helps!
