Link dropdown box inside gallery to current item

Hi All,

I created a dropdown control and inside the Items property:

["Approved", "Pending", "Rejected"]

So far so good, but how do I link the dropdown to associate with the current item's field called Approver1_Status? I tried looking for the Update property and to update using this formula but I cannot find it:

ThisItem.Approver1_Status.Value

My Approver1_Status column is a Text Column. Thanks in advanced!

Re: Link dropdown box inside gallery to current item

Hi @hnguy71 ,

Could you describe more clearly about "link the dropdown to associate with the current item's field"?

1)If you means that update Approver1_Status column with the data of the drop down.

You could set a button's OnSelect:

Patch(table,Defaults(table),{Approver1_StatusSmiley Very Happyropdown1.Selected.Value})

2)If you means that display Approver1_Status column's data in the drop down.

You should set the drop down's Items: tablename

                                                    Value: Approver1_Status

What's more, the property of Update is used to update data in a form.

If you put the drop down inside a form, you could set the drop down's datacard's Update:

Dropdown1.Selected.Value

And then set the submit button: SubmitForm(Form1)

Re: Link dropdown box inside gallery to current item

Hi @hnguy71

You are trying to get the value of the selected item in dropdowwn to your text column right?

If so,

please put this formula on the text label. Replace the "Dropdown4" with the name of your drop down

Dropdown4.SelectedText.Value
