Passed parameters - how to deal with no data in a gallery when editing due to the param being blank while editing

Hi all,

I have a gallery that populates based on a parameter passed in a url sent within an e-mail.

When I'm editing the app, since the parameter isn't ever set (since it's only set via the e-mail link), it's hard to visualize the data within the gallery since the gallery is always blank.
I thought about using a label to set a parameter and setting it with data but it seems like a pain to flip that back and forth from testing to editing. Is there an easier way to deal with this?

Hi @russrimm

I usually use a variable to specify what should be displayed in the gallery, and then set the variable either onstart with the param, or from within the app itself if a user is interacting with the data.

Below is a link to a nice blog that covers it in detail.
