Patch Attachments to an Existing file

Hello,

I am looking for a way to patch attachments to an exisiting file in PowerApps. Basically, my form has the option for a user to "save as a draft" and return to it later. I would like to implement the functionality for them to be able to add additional attachments when they return to their draft, but am unsure of the proper syntax to do so. Thanks

Your welcome.

I actually was figthing this a month ago and was not able to find any descent solution. Bouncing over a Flow may help, but it didnt go down that road at that time.

If i find some spare time I may test it again as it would be super useful!

Hello,

What is your datasource/connector?

Re: Patch Attachments to an Existing file

Sorry - forgot to mention it. It's a SharePoint list

Re: Patch Attachments to an Existing file

Ok, that is quite easy.

Use the Patch function.

Re: Patch Attachments to an Existing file

Yeah... I have tried patch. I don't know the syntax for attachments to a SP list. My datasource is "GiftofSecuritiesForms"; SessionID is a variable that matches the current form's ID. I tried Patch(GiftOfSecuritiesForms, First(Filter(GiftOfSecuritiesForms, ID = SessionID)), {Attachments: DataCardValue17.Attachments}) as well as UpdateIf(GiftOfSecuritiesForms, ID = SessionID, {Attachments: DataCardValue17.Attachments}) and neither work.

Ahh, sorry i missed it was attachment.

Here are some discussion regarding your issue. https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/General-Discussion/Need-to-add-Attachment-to-a-PATCH-to-a-ShareP... It seems its not possible to use Patch function for attachments :-/
