Patch datetime back to SQL

In my edit form, I am trying to patch the date from the date picker back to SQL table with a column name StartDate.

Is there anything I am missing here? I read lot of threads but was not able to find any single solution regarding this.

Patch('[dbo].[FastStaff_FutureProjects]',First(Filter('[dbo].[FastStaff_FutureProjects]',ProjectName = DataCardValue15.Text)),{startdate : DatePicker_StartDate_1.SelectedDate})

(When I just code it {startdate : DatePicker_StartDate_1}, It won't error out. After I run the app, It will just get in loop and then error out saying unknown error occoured.)

Thanks.
