PowerApps Camera control launches front camera smaller than normal size.

PowerApps Camera control launches front camera, smaller than normal size.

I'm using Camera control, set the property, Camera =1. it's appearing smaller in size.

How can it be in normal size? It's happening iOS, Anroid both.

Thank you.

Re: PowerApps Camera control launches front camera smaller than normal size.

Hi @ananda

The camera control has a certain fixed resolution for it. We cannot update that in our app. If the app is in tablet mode, and the camera is expanded to whole screen, then it leaves some space on both sides. If you think that this capability should be expanded to acquire the whole screen, please raise an idea or up-vote if exist already on: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas

Hope this Helps!

Thank you for your response.

I don't expect it to be appear in full screen,

At least it should be same in size, when camera=0.

Thanks

Re: PowerApps Camera control launches front camera smaller than normal size.

Hi @ananda

I carried out a test on my side on IOS and it opened the same size camera on both the modes. Can you share more details, maybe through some screenshots?

Hope this Helps!

Re: PowerApps Camera control launches front camera smaller than normal size.

Hi @ananda

I carried out a test on my side and I confirm that this is happening in Phone layout. There is very least we can do about this right now, since we do not have the liberty to resize the camera composition here. If you think this should be added as a functionality, please raise an idea on:https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Ideas/idb-p/PowerAppsIdeas

Re: PowerApps Camera control launches front camera smaller than normal size.

Thank you for your response,

I got some question now related on using Camera vs Image Control in powerapps, Could you please explain.

1) If I use Image Control, On Click it opens up front camera in Samsung device, for iPhone, need to flip.  No issue on size. Not sure on other devices.

2) If I use Camera. will have the issue on size, which will be small in size.

My requirement is to host the app in 7' tab/ smart phone, where users will feed data.

What's your recomondation?

Shall I change the Layout?

Is there any quick way to do this change ?

Thank you

ananda

Re: PowerApps Camera control launches front camera smaller than normal size.

Hi @ananda

Image control doesn't allow you to capture images using a camera on Web based applications. This is specific to phones. When such a control is opened is phone, this opens the default app to select images and in IOS, it gave the option to select from existing ones or take a new photo. If you are okay with this type of user experience, then you can simply go with the Add Picture control otherwise with the Camera control in Powerapps, we cannot do much customizations.

Hope this Helps!
