Send Email with form values from completed from

So I found this subject on here a few times but not having the same issue I am. I have a request form in Powerapps. I want it to send an email with what the user input after the form is submitted successfully.

I have the submit button on select set to submitform. The form submits successfully and the data appears in my Sharepoint list no problem there.

I have the “OnSuccess” coded to send an email via MS flow. The email sends fine but any text in “edit” fields do not come through on the email. If it is a “view” form they come through just fine.

How do you send an edit form values via an email?

Re: Send Email with form values from completed from

I believe in your OnSuccess function you should be using Form.LastSubmitted.FieldName instead of the DataCard to get the value out and passed to Flow.  Sometimes, depending on how you have your Form setup on submission resets the Form to New so grabbing the DataCard value would be grabbing an empty value.

Yes! It worked! I knew it had to be something simple like that.

Do you know if there is a place to see all of the 'item' actions like this? I can find a list of all of the formulas but I knew it had to be something like this but I dont know where to find a list of things like this to know they exist.

Thanks again!

I think this is the page you are looking for.  It lists all the properties.

Re: Send Email with form values from completed from

yes thanks again!

One more scenario for this. I have a multi select drop down and I cant seem to figure out what controls it wants to display the values. For my single selection drop downs .value works fine. For this one I have tried:

  • Form1.LastSubmit.'field name'.Value
  • Form1.LastSubmit.'field name'.selected.Value
  • Form1.LastSubmit.'field name'.item.selected
  • Form1.LastSubmit.'field name'.text
  • Form1.LastSubmit.'field name'.viewValue
  • Form1.LastSubmit.'field name'.value.text
  • Form1.LastSubmit.'field name'.selected.value.text

It gives "invalid argument type" for all of these. I looked through the controls in the link you posted but cant seem to find the right one. Any suggestions?

I think you want SelectedItems on the ComboBox.

Re: Send Email with form values from completed from

I think I solved my own question. I just used Concat((Form1.LastSubmit.'Additional persons to notify'.Email,Email &"; ") and I tested it and it worked!

Thank you so much for all of your help on my project!
