This PowerApp didn't install correctly. Please try again.

I'm liking PowerApps so far since it appeared on our Office 365 instance, but every App I make seems to have this error after a few save/exits and I have to start all over again. It's really annoying having my work corrupted over and over.

I click on more details and the only information I recieve is :

The issue was resolved in the product. If you are seeing this issue, I'm happy to help troubleshoot. If you could share the session ID (menu > Session details) with me, that would be most helpful.  Thanks!

Hi SamCousinsEFC,

From the error it looks like your installation of PowerApps got corrupted, however, it sounds like this is a temporary issue and comes and goes?  When you say "save/exits" are you exiting PowerApps or are you opening the app you created first and then exiting your app?  Could you describe the actions you take that bring up this issue so we may reproduce?

Thanks!

Chris

Re: This PowerApp didn't install correctly. Please try again.

Hi Chris,

It seems to be whenever I switch between devices. I have a Office Desktop PC, Office Laptop and a Home PC. The issue will happen mostly when I do something like the following:

1. I'm working on my PowerApp in the PowerApps Studio on my Office Desktop PC.

2. I save the PowerApp to our Office 365 instance.

3. I'll exit the application and shut down the pc / stop using it.

4. I'll open the PowerApp on my Office Laptop, and this is when the error message appears. At this point I can fix it by reinstalling the PowerApps Studio application.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. My point is the error is most prevelant when switching between devices.

Cheers,

Sam

Thank you for the details.  Does the error ever recur after reinstalling PowerApps on your laptop and if so, what steps do you take before it recurs?

Re: This PowerApp didn't install correctly. Please try again.

If it corrupts, I reinstall the app and as far as I can tell it is fine on that device. It only seems to occur when I switch to another device and try to open the project.

I guess to summarize it corrupts when I open my PowerApps app on a new device. All of my devices are running Windows 10 x64 with the latest updates installed.

These aren't 100%, the corruption isn't guranteed unfortunately, which will make it harder to reproduce. Any more details I can provide to help?

Thanks,

Sam
