Changing DisplayName in CDS not reflected in Power Apps

Hi everyone,

I created a new entity in CDS and based an app on it.

When I change the Displayname of entity fields, they do not change in Power Apps although the property is set to "Parent.DisplayName". This applies to every field which is used in a form. Others are changed.
The unchanged names are used in fields that are locked for changes.
Unlocking them doesn't allow set the property to "Parent.DisplayName" again.

So either was they will not be kept in sync.

I consider this to be a bug, especially as every field has a unique name which can be used as a key for such an update or sync.

Hi @mriedmueller,

Hi @teylyn1,

It is true that so far you cannot change the DisplayName in CDS in PowerApps.

About the issue that names are not updated in PowerApps, please try to first delete(uncheck) the whole data card, refresh the data source, then readd this field by checking the data card. I just tested with these steps and the field name would change successfully.

Mona

Re: Changing DisplayName in CDS not reflected in Power Apps

Hi,

I can accept this as a solution to my imminent problem as there seem to be technical reasons or a missing functionality.
But in the end deleting components an recreate them is not a suitable way of handling such a situation. It is cumbersome and error prone. Editing existing objects is the normal way in other environments.

Regards,
Michael
