Help with building a request form with auto-populating fields

Hello everyone. I am currently try to build a request form which grabs certain pieces of information like the requestors full name, email, location and phone number and auto populates this into form. The first issue that I am running into is that I can only grab the requestors full name and email. The second issue is once the form is submitted, whenever someone goes to edit the form, it shows the editors full name and email and not the original requestor. I am currently only using one screen for edit,view and create which may be problematic. Any ideas on how to address this issue and also how properly use Office365 users to grab the other pieces of information. Thanks!

Re: Help with building a request form with auto-populating fields

HI @--EKM ,

Could you please share a bit more about your data source? Is it a SP List?

Do you custom a form in a SP List or create a standalone canvas app based on your SP List?

Could you please share a bit more about the Location info you want to grab? Is it the current location where the requestor submitted this form data or the Office Location of the requestor?

 If the Location that you mentioned is the current location where the requestor submitted this form data, I think the Location function could achieve your needs. Please set the Default property of the Text Input box within the Location Data card in your Edit form to following:

If(
EditForm1.Mode = FormMode.New, /* <-- EditForm1 represents the Edit form in your app. If you custom form via PowerApps in your SP List, please replace EditForm1 with SharePointForm1 */
Location.Latitude & "," & Location.Longitude, /* <-- return the current GPS location of the requestor */
Parent.Default
)

If the Location that you mentioned is just the Office location of the requestor, I think the Office365Users.MyProfileV2().officeLocation formula could achieve your needs. Please set the Default property of the Text Input box within the Location Data card to following:

If(
EditForm1.Mode = FormMode.New, /* <-- EditForm1 represents the Edit form in your app. If you custom form via PowerApps in your SP List, please replace EditForm1 with SharePointForm1 */
Office365Users.MyProfileV2().officeLocation,
Parent.Default
)

If you want to grab the Phone Number info of the requestor, please set the Default property of the Text Input box within the Phone Number Data card in your Edit form to following:

If(
EditForm1.Mode = FormMode.New, /* <-- EditForm1 represents the Edit form in your app. If you custom form via PowerApps in your SP List, please replace EditForm1 with SharePointForm1 */
Office365Users.MyProfileV2().mobilePhone,
Parent.Default
)

Please take a try with above solution, check if the issue is solved.

Note: You need to add Office 365 Users connector as data source in your app firstly.
