How can Power apps make RecId automaticallly

Hello,

I'm making new application for AX2012 using CDS.

When I inserted new data from power apps, how the application insert the RecId of the data.

In AX 2012, RecId is very important for each data, (it means unique and primary) the process for RecId is essential.

Please give me any information or proper link about it.

Thanks.

Re: How can Power apps make RecId automaticallly

Hi @BeHappy,

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I think you have some misunderstanding in RecId in Dynamics AX.

In Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 the primary key for every new table is always enforced by an index that has exactly one field. The one field is usually an incremented number, or a completely meaningless number that is generated by the system.

For new tables the default is a primary key based on the RecId field. This is represented as the surrogate key in the user interface.

Please check the following article for more details:

https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/233826

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/23899445/are-recids-unique-across-common-tables-in-dynamics-ax-2...

In other words, when you add a new record within your AX table, the RecId column value would be generated automatically by your Dynamics AX System rather than be inserted via a PowerApps app.

Best regards,

Kris
