Conversation transcripts in Dataverse

Hi All,

 

I have a question about Conversation transcripts in Dataverse. As far as I am aware it can take up to at least a couple of hours for this data to show up in Dataverse after the conversation ended, correct?

 

My question: are there any plans in reducing this amount of time?

 

The reason I am asking this is because I would be interested to interact with this data directly after the conversation ends (send a summary e-mail to authenticated user for example).

We don't currently believe that we have a way to address this in dataverse, however we are looking at ways to provide additional telemetry pipelines that would allow you to capture at a more real time approach.  Application Insights integrations would be a key way to get data more real time as the data verse store is really targeted at historical records that are not urgent in their processing.

Once your data is in there you should be able to query it using their API within a minute or so. You could even have a rolling job in Azure functions to send on a periodic basis.

 

We log some telemetry here automatically today, so you might have what you need, and we are planning to expand the data logged when the new unified authoring canvas comes to Public Preview / GA.

Thank you so much for these suggestions. I was really focused on Dataverse because other Microsoft products use it more and more, especially with the concept of virtual tables (like the new aad user from Azure Active Directory). I did not consider/think about Application Insights 😅

 

Application Insights definitely works for me (especially if it is available within a minute or so), I will have a look at taking that approach 🙂

Would application insights also capture IP address of the person interacting with the chatbot irrespective of whether they are AAD authenticated or not ?
