I too am inspired by @KeithWhatling to share this app as a contribution to the #TemplatesForHumanity grassroots project. You can read more about Templates for Humanity here:

I don't know if anyone will ever use this app or if it's even relevant, but one of the things that I do know is disease outbreaks are a threat to our modern society and way of life. Even in places from the remote villages in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the small towns in Honduras, virus outbreaks are a clear and present danger: take Ebola and Zika, respectively. The DRC is currently fighting one of the deadliest Ebola outbreaks in the past decades with 823 EVD cases reported as of February 12 (Source: https://www.who.int/csr/don/14-february-2019-ebola-drc/en/).

What I have found however is, a lot of the chatter related to these diseases seem to be concentrated on Twitter. So, I figured, what if I took 6 of the current most prevalent disease outbreaks and provided a way for health inspectors or first responders to monitor this chatter in one place?

In addition, what if I provided a mechanism for them to discern the level of concern based on the message posted? This is how this rudimentary App came into play. The app uses a Twitter connection along with a connector to Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services Text Analytics service to provide the information needed.

I have also built this as a pure Flow app with email integration (attached here too) to provide the same information for situations where users need this information in their inbox along with other critical information.

The intended audience for this app is NGOs and first responders working with major governmental healthcare and emergency management offices in affected areas.

Installation instructions for Flow app:

1. Downlaod and rename the file DiseaseMonitoring_20190220021549.msapp to DiseaseMonitoring_20190220021549.zip and import into your Microsoft Flow environment
