Compose output float integer issue

I was contacted by @McBlair
We have found an issue when using the output of the compose that has the following expression float(outputs('05.5.1_-_Hours')).

When using that output, for example adding to a variable, we have the following message:2019-11-01 15_49_48-Re_ Flow help.png

We have seen following in the code view, the original step had this code view:

{
"inputs": {
"name": "psa_hours",
"value": "@outputs('05.5.2_-_Convert_to_Floating_Integer')"
}
}

After changing the step by removing the output and adding again, the code view is:

{
"inputs": {
"name": "psa_hours",
"value": "@outputs('05.5.2_-_Convert_to_Floating_Integer')?['2_-_CONVERT_TO_FLOATING_INTEGER_outputs']?['$']"
}
}

The workaround is typing the output code as an expression.
What could be the problem?
Thanks for the quick feedback.

Regards,

Frederik Bisback

Re: Compose output float integer issue

Hey @frederikbisback

I have been trying to replicate this but am unable to. Referring to the error screenshot, can you confirm that the output that is being referred to is from the correct flow action.

For reference, you can check the below screenshot:

dde4.PNG

It would be great if you can share a screenshot of the flow in edit mode.

Hope this Helps!

Re: Compose output float integer issue

Hey @frederikbisback

Can you try replacing the expression in '05.5.2 - Convert to Floating Integer' compose action as

float(outputs('05.5.1_-_Hours'))

and then select the output of this action in the next compose action and check if you face the same issue?

Hope this Helps!

Re: Compose output float integer issue

Hey, The expression was already

float(outputs('05.5.1_-_Hours'))
The comment in the picture was not correct.

Re: Compose output float integer issue

Hey @frederikbisback

This is weird. I followed the same steps but am not able to reproduce.

What is the datatype of the variable you set? Is it float? If so, Can you get rid of the second compose action and directly in the set variable action use this: rrr3.PNG

 Exp:

float(outputs('05.5.1_-_Hours'))

Hope this Helps!

Re: Compose output float integer issue

Typing this in manually into the expression field works, the issue persists if you type and select dynamic content and type the expression.  When I created the flow yesterday typing and using dynamic content work.  From yesterday morning it stopped.
