Create file on FTP server and rename it after creation

Hi Power Automate community,

 

I am currently integrating CDS to a external system using a Power Automate flow.

  1. It gathers the data from the CDS tables and creates a CSV file in a OneDrive folder
  2. Then the file is moved to the FTP server using the Create File activity of the FTP connector. All this works as intended.

But this is where I'm having issues, in order for the receiving system to recognize the file, it has to be renamed after it has been transferred - this is a requirement. However, there currently is no Rename activity in the FTP connector - and using SFTP (that has one) is not an option.

 

Is there any easy way to rename the file after creation or will I have to create a custom connector?

Hi Frederik,

 

The SFTP Copy file changes the name when I specify a different name for the destination.  You might try the FTP Copy.

That is a great idea - I will test it with the client server, to see if it registers it as an acceptable change.

I will update you here and accept your solution if it works.
