Excel for business locked after running a Flow

Hello I am testing a flow that makes a copy of an Excel file stored in OneDrive and del rows in a table (Audit_Trail) that contains values in _PowerappsID_ column in the original file.

Every time after the Flow successfuly run, the Excel table Audit_Trail is always locked and I will have an error like this if I run a Powerapps that links to the table.err.png

Sorry for my system locale, the error simply says - Unable to load audit_trail. The resources requested has been locked. Server Response: Cannot write file to filesource. File is being locked.

The Powerapps is still in closed test, Flow and Excel can only and have been access only by myself.

I found the only solution to this is to go to Excel online-> open the file with Desktop Excel->Close the Desktop Excel without doing anything-> click Continue in Browser -> Close Excel online. The Powerapps will then function properly, the locked Excel may also unlock spontaneously after a certain amount of time

Is there a step in MS Flow that I somehow need to release the Excel after Deleting Rows?

The MS Flow was created base on this post:

Re: Excel for business locked after running a Flow

Hi @VinL,

This is a known issue in Windows server, it is not caused by Flow, and there is no way to release the File in Flow.

There is a blog that how to release file lock in windows, I hope it can help you:

As a workaround, I suggest that you can create a 10 minutes delay (or some other time), then send a notification to you when the excel file could be used.Annotation 2019-10-09 104811.png
