Microsoft Flow: The request is invalid:\r\nValue cannot be null.\r\nParameter name: value

I am getting the following error when running a Flow from a SharePoint List to Planner: The Planner step "Create a task" has this error:

"error": {
    "code""",
    "message""The request is invalid:\r\nValue cannot be null.\r\nParameter name: value",
    "innerError": {
      "request-id""a368b049-bf5f-45bd-a9c0-19a76c4cb09c",
      "date""2017-11-08T04:08:10"
    }
  }
}

I cannot figure out what this error is or what is causing it. I have the same Flow working on a different SharePoint list set up the same way and everything works. All of the fields in the Planner step have information mapped to them. Nothing is null.

Do you have any idea what this error is or how I can troubleshoot it?

Re: Microsoft Flow: The request is invalid:\r\nValue cannot be null.\r\nParameter name: value

I have narrowed the problem down to the "Assigned To" field. That is a People Group field in SharePoint. I use the email address from there to populate the "Assigned User Id" in the Create Task in Planner field.

I can get that to work just fine in another workflow but can't get it to work here.

Re: Microsoft Flow: The request is invalid:\r\nValue cannot be null.\r\nParameter name: value

Hi @JohnF,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow’s configuration?

The error message told that the parameter value that you provided is null. I have made a test on my side and my flow’s configuration as below:2.JPG

The flow works successfully as below:3.JPGThe “Assigned User Id” field requires id or email address of the user, please check if you have fill proper value in "Assigned User Id" field of “Create a task” action. Besides, please check if you have created proper value in "Assigned To" column of SharePoint list.

Best regards,

Kris
