Sending Approval Request with attachment in Flow

I am automating the Training Reimbursement process. Employees are required to fill a form and attach paid training receipts so that HR will review the receipts and then approve/reject. If HR approves, Finance also need to receive the reviewed and approved documents to process the reimbursement. It seems that we cannot directly attach documents to an approval email. Any idea to meet this requirement?

Thank you!

Ayn

Re: Sending Approval Request with attachment in Flow

Probably the best design would be to use a SharePoint list as the backend for the Form that needs to be filled out. I would create a PowerApp as the front end for the list.  Then add the training receipts as attachments to the list item that is the form.  Then oyu can do the approval on that list item and include a link to the item. Using that link both HR and Finance can access both the filed form and the attached documents.

Re: Sending Approval Request with attachment in Flow

Hi @Ayn

Microsoft Flow Approvals action with attahcmnets is coming soon (I beleive it is already available in preview envrionments)

You could currently include a direct link to the file within the Flow approval email itself, see the Item link option to do so

For now,  action “Send email with options” could be used to attach files in the email for approval (This is just an email with actions and has option to attach file)

Also, check this post

Hi @Ayn ,

I agree with @RezaDorrani 's suggesttion that you could take a try with the "Send an email with options" action.

Re: Sending Approval Request with attachment in Flow

This will work, but Microsoft has been recommending getting away from sending actual attachments in emails for a number of years now.  It would be a better design to just have links included in the email.
