Switch Not Recognizing the Output

Hello and apologies for my ignorance, I am a complete beginner with any type of coding. Here is my issue

I'm trying to get an item in a sharepoint list to update when another item is changed.  So for example, I want Sharepoint to capture the email address of the person when they change the value of a dropdown to "Assigned", but only if no email address is already there.  The person to whom the referral is assigned is the one that will be making the change. So modifier's email.

At the same time, if the value is changed to "Contacted", I want it to capture the date that value was changed but only if no date already exists.

I therefore created a switch function with conditions.

I believe the problem is that although the correct value is returned (see for screenshot), the switch function doesn't recognize it as the conditional value to initiate the action.

Here is my flow:image.png

CRA BN is my unique identifier

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi @lafrancejf ,

Could you please explain more details about the MTCUStatus column?

What is the type column the MTCUStatus column, is it a Choice type column don't allow multiple selections?

If the MTCUStatus column is a Choice type column don't allow multiple selections, the flow should work.

Please share more details so we would try to provide a proper workaround for you.

Best regards,

Hello @v-alzhan-msft and thank you for your reply!

The MTCUStatus column is indeed a choice column with the following options: "Referred" (default), "Assigned" and "Contacted".

In a nutshell here is what I want to happen:

Employee updates the value from "Referred" to "Assigned" and the list captures their email address (but only if no previous email address is populated).  Later, employee updates the value from "Assigned" to "Contacted" and the list captures the date (but only if no previous date is populated).
