Update File Properties Error

Hi Guys,

I'm working on an app that will allow our guys in the shop to take quality assurance pictures and have them uploaded to Share Point. Because we only have so many flow runs a month I want to be able to upload a gallery using one flow. I have the flow making a file for each photo with a random file name but I need to know what job number the photos goes with. Therefore, I'm trying to update the file properties to populate columns in Share Point. This is what I'm running into.

 InvalidTemplate. Unable to process template language expressions in action 'Update_file_properties' inputs at line '1' and column '1810': 'The template language expression 'triggerBody()['Updatefileproperties_JobNumber_1']' cannot be evaluated because property 'Updatefileproperties_JobNumber_1' doesn't exist, available properties are 'Compose_Inputs, Updatefileproperties_JobNumber'. Please see https://aka.ms/logicexpressions for usage details.'.

I didn't know how to fix this so I figured I would make a blank file because I know that I can change the file properties on that and then at least I would have something in the folder with the job number. However, when I did that I'm still getting the error above and I don't know why.

Does anyone have any idea?

Hi Alice and thank you for your response I got it but I want to explain as well as I can what happened for fellow users.

Please take a try to modify the template language expression that you mentioned to

'triggerBody()['Updatefileproperties_JobNumber']'

I think I did this but I was still getting the following error.

InvalidTemplate. Unable to process template language expressions in action 'Photo_Properties' inputs at line '1' and column '1809': 'The template language expression 'triggerBody()['PhotoProperties_JobNumber']' cannot be evaluated because property 'PhotoProperties_JobNumber' doesn't exist, available properties are 'Compose_Inputs, Updatefileproperties_JobNumber'. Please see https://aka.ms/logicexpressions for usage details.'.

I had changed the name of the Update File Properties action to PhotoProperties at some point I swore that I had done it both ways but flow isnt very good at updating. I deleted the PhotoProperties action and just made a new one and left the name as Update File Properties. This seemed to work for me... would also recommend that when you click on the form (input box) that you change it to new and not edit. I don't know how much that played into my problems but there it is.

Hi @lbaumgartner15,

Could you please share a screenshot of the configuration of your flow?

Could you please share more details of the error message when the flow run failed?

Have you use expression in your flow?

The error message you provided told that the property 'Updatefileproperties_JobNumber_1' doesn't exist, available properties are 'Compose_Inputs, Updatefileproperties_JobNumber'

Please take a try to modify the template language expression that you mentioned to

'triggerBody()['Updatefileproperties_JobNumber']'

Please let me know if your problem could be solved or share more details so we would try to provide a proper workaround for you.

Best regards,

Alice
