Using HTTP POST action with Samanage API

2019-01-10_15-10-47.jpgHey all,

I am trying to attach a file to an incident in Samange using the generic HTTP action. Samanage's API documentation to do this can be found here. https://www.samanage.com/docs/api/attachments/.

Where in the HTTP Action do

-F "file[attachable_type]=PARENT_OBJECT_TYPE"
-F "file[attachable_id]=PARENT_OBJECT_ID"
-F "file[attachment]=@/PATH/TO/FILE"

go? And what is the proper formatting?

Thanks!

Hi @parmiras,

Would you please share a full screenshot of the configuration of your flow?

Would you please share a run history of your flow?

Best regards,

Alice

Hey, thanks for the reply. Sure, here's an example of a failed run:

Edit: Also, just FYI, I've omitted that "Initialize Variable" step. I just pass the literal object instead. Result was the same.

I've made some progress.  I believe I've got the correct format in the body, but when I try to pass the URL of the file I create in the Create File action, I get a 500 Internal Server Error.

On the other hand, if I exclude the URL for the file I want to attach, I no longer get the server error, but instead (obviously) get an error stating that a required parameter is missing.  My takeaway is that Samanage's API is attempting to access the file through the filepath im providing and timing out because it doesnt have permission into the tenant? Is there a way to do this more effectively?

Good morning,

Did you have any insight regarding my previous post?
