I am trying to add a connection to an Approval step in a Team workflow, but when I try to add a new one, I see this message:
When I go to the Connections page and try to add a new Approvals connection there, I get this error:
What is the maximum number of connections for the 'approvals' API and how is our current amount calculated? I ask because when I click on the ellipsis to add a new connection, only one (my own work account) is listed... and surely the limit isn't just "1".
Hi @Tanner,
Please make sure you are in the correct environment. And try to delete then recreate the connection to see if it will work.
I haven’t seen related docs on this issue. I will keep an eye on it.
Best regards,
Mabel Mao
Hi Mabel,
I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by environment. I have only ever just opened Flow and navigated to "My Flows" and worked on Flows there. Do you mean something like test and production?
I don't really want to delete the connection(s) I have and risk being unable to re-add them due to this issue... at least not until I know a little bit more about the issue.
It would be great if the Flow team made part of the error message a link to API and API connection limitations on https://docs.microsoft.com somewhere.
Hi @Tanner,
What’s your current situation? Are you still having the issue?
Here is the related doc on Microsoft Flow environment, please check it for more details:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/flow/environments-overview-maker
You could try to create a new environment then recreate the approval connection to see if you will get the same issue.
Best regards,
Mabel Mao

I believe the issue was caused by the esoteric description/documention (or lack thereof) of how connection management works. Clearing out all the connections and adding in new ones solved the problem... for now.
The questions asked in the title still have yet to be answered.
