How to export the Thunderbird MBOX mailbox file to the Lotus NSF file?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to export the Thunderbird MBOX mailbox file directly to the Lotus NSF files. However, you can use third-party software such as DataVare MBOX to NSF Converter Tool to convert your Thunderbird MBOX mailbox files to Lotus NSF files. This software supports MBOX files of all email clients like Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Eudora, Sec Monkey, and Poco Mail. This software converts bulk MBOX files to NSF file format and this conversion saves a lot of time. This software supports all versions of Lotus Notes including versions such as 9.0.1,8.5,8.0,7.0,6.5 and 5.0. It also supports all Windows OS versions like - 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, XP, and Vista.

To export Thunderbird MBOX mailbox files to Lotus NSF files, you can follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Install the Required Software

 

Ensure that you have both Thunderbird and IBM Notes (formerly known as Lotus Notes) installed on your computer. If you don't have IBM Notes installed, download and install it from the official IBM website.

 

Step 2: Export MBOX Files from Thunderbird

 

  • Launch Thunderbird and select the mailbox you want to export.
  • Right-click on the mailbox and choose "Export As" or "Save As" (depending on your Thunderbird version).
  • Save the mailbox as an MBOX file on your computer.

 

Step 3: Convert MBOX to NSF Format

 

To convert the MBOX file to the NSF format, you'll need to use a third-party tool. One such tool is the "MailsGen MBOX Converter" software. You can search for it online and download it from a trusted source. You will all the information regarding this application on its official website.

 

Once you have the converter software:

  • Install and launch the MailsGen MBOX to NSF Converter.
  • Click on the "Add File" or "Select File" option in the converter tool.
  • Browse and select the MBOX file you exported from Thunderbird.
  • Choose the destination location where you want to save the converted NSF file.
  • Click on the "Convert" or "Start Conversion" button to begin the conversion process.

Step 4: Import NSF File to IBM Notes

  • Open IBM Notes.
  • Go to "File" and select "Import".
  • Select "Lotus Domino Server" as the source to import.
  • Select the NSF file you converted from MBOX as the file to import.
  • Follow the instructions as shown on the screen to execute the import process.

After completing these steps, your Thunderbird MBOX mailbox file should be successfully exported to a Lotus NSF file in IBM Notes.
