Stop Push Notification on Test Devices

This morning I deployed my first PowerApps App to production. During testing the Push Notifications worked great. Now that the system is in production the notifications are very spotty. One issue we noticed is that notifications are continuing to show up on our test devices even though we are logged OUT of the app on the device.

How do we fully "disconnect" a device that has been used for testing so that it no longer recieves notifications since logging out and even restarting the iPad has not resolved the issue?

Re: Stop Push Notification on Test Devices

We found a solution, though disappointing.

  1. Deleted PowerApps from all test devices.
  2. Removed Push Notification from the App and moved it to a Flow.
  3. Added a lookup in the Flow to dynamically populate the recipient list.
  4. Republish teh App, Publish the FLow
  5. Reinstalled PowerApps on the test devices.
  6. Install Flow and login with test accounts.

Re: Stop Push Notification on Test Devices

Where do you set up the notification?

Through Microsoft Flow, or just within the PowerApps App?

Here are some suggestions:

1. If there is no need for the Push Notification to work, then please disable it.

2. For the mobile device to disable the Notification, please find the PowerApps App, then disable the notification through the Device Settings.

There is no way to manage the notification within the PowerApps mobile App.

If you have any feedback or ideas, then please consider submit it under PowerApps idea fourm:

Please help, there is no way I will get my clients to "buy in" to a Premium Feature like Push Notification if they cannot control the delivery. It seems that the developers at Microsoft would have already run into these same issues. (And been anoyed by them too.)

Re: Stop Push Notification on Test Devices

Bump!

We have taken the app out of production and are looking at alternatives. Am I the only one having issues with the limitations and bugs in Notifications?
