Associate PowerApp to List so that the app opens when selecting the +New in the SharePoint list

Hi, I know we can do this if the PowerApp is built as the customised form, but what I want to do is associate an app I've built from the PowerApps studio from scratch to the SharePoint list.  Kind of like making it the default content type similar to how an InfoPath form template worked.

I know I can simply link the powerApp to the SharePoint site, but it would be good if the app opens from the List's New button - launches into a new window.

Does anyone know if that is possible?

Thanks.

Re: Associate PowerApp to List so that the app opens when selecting the +New in the SharePoint list

Hi @Brice235i ,

Your suggestion is great.

Do you want to  app opens from the List's New button not only for the cusomized form and for all apps?

Could you please try to the following workaround?

OnNew=Launch("https://create.powerapps.com/studio/#")  (the link is what I test on my side)

openpowerappsbyNew+.PNG

Hope this could be helpful.

Best Regards.

Yumia

Re: Associate PowerApp to List so that the app opens when selecting the +New in the SharePoint list

Hi Yumia, not quite.  That link just opens PowerApps studio.

I want to open the associated app from the list's New button in a new window.  At the moment it only opens in the right hand pane for an app I've built using "Customize Form" option.  I realise now that when I create an App from the PowerApps studio and connect to a list I do not see the "SharePoint Integration" menu item in the left.  This is only visible when the app is created from SharePoint "Customize Forms"  Do you know if there is a way to get the "SharePoint Integration" menu into canvas apps created in PowerApps so I can get this integration with the List menu?

I copied the web app address into the New action for the SharePoint Integration:
Launch("https://web.powerapps.com/apps/c4354831-87c4-4148-a5fa-cf0436b8c6f2")
Unfortunately it doesn't work.  I click the New button in the list and 2 pages are open.  The PowerApps player times out... I see the app background only.

Re: Associate PowerApp to List so that the app opens when selecting the +New in the SharePoint list

Hello again Yumia, I changed the link for the onNew action and it now works!  Thank you so much for your help.  I have also submitted a UserVoice idea to improve the integration further.

https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/PowerApps-Ideas/Please-improve-the-integration-between-a-PowerAp...

So in summary,

1. I have built a PowerApp from the PowerApp studio that connects to a SharePoint List.  There is no SharePoint Integration option in the left menu panel.

2. I return to the SharePoint list and select "Customize forms" from the PowerApps menu

3. Click SharePoint Integration in the left menu

4. Adjust the OnNew action to launch the relevant PowerApp:  Launch("https://web.powerapps.com/webplayer/app?appId=%2fproviders%2fMicrosoft.PowerApps%2fapps%2fa29f8876-b...")

Note: the below link - the link presented on the App details screen doesn't work

https://web.powerapps.com/apps/a29f8876-b1f9-4685-974b-ab4bb8c95db5

Thank you Yumia, I will accept your answer as the solution.
