ComboBox Searching Office 365 Users Broken

The feature to search Office 365 users was working, but now it is broken across all of my apps. I cannot change the SearchField and DisplayField to ["DisplayName"] as it just resets to [] and if I go into the Advanced Features for the ComboBox I get the error:

WebAuthoring abnormal termination.

Re: ComboBox Searching Office 365 Users Broken

Please also note that the workaround for using the Office365Users dataset in ComboBox control is to avoid referencing the ComboBox.SearchText (ComboBox search field) in the searchTerm. Example:

The formula below will work in a release from the second half of April:

ComboBox1.Items = Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: ComboBox1.SearchText})

The following formula should work in the current release, or in the release that should be available in the next couple of days:

ComboBox1.Items = Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: TextInput1.Text})

Re: ComboBox Searching Office 365 Users Broken

WebAuthoring abnormal termination.

Are you using the Apps under the Web version?

Please first take a look at the following support article:

Truobleshooting startup issues in PowerApps Web Authoring

For the Office 365 users function, would you please share more details about the usage with the ComboBox control?

Regards,

Michael

Re: ComboBox Searching Office 365 Users Broken

I stopped getting the error when going into Advanced Mode, but I still can no longer get the Combo Boxes to work.

I have Items set to "Office365Users.SearchUser({searchTerm: ComboBox1.SearchText})"

Everytime I try to put [DisplayName] in DisplayField or SearchField then it just goes back to []

I have tried this in Chrome, Edge, and the Windows App. The previous version works fine, so the version that is available to the public on Dynamics 365 is fine, but now when I publish the app the Combo Box stops working on Dynamics even though I have done nothing to it. This applies to all of my apps that use the Combo Box.

Re: ComboBox Searching Office 365 Users Broken

Hi @v-micsh-msft,

I have same issue.

I used ComboBox to look for users in Office 365 to pick one like this:

Items of ComboBox were picked by Search in it:

UživateléOffice365.SearchUser({searchTerm:ComboUser.SearchText})

When I tried to pick DisplayFields and SearchFields it is clearing it and not saved...

This is currently not working, but it was last month absolutely perfect.

I have to make workaround with TextInput and DropBox. But this is quite strange....

Re: ComboBox Searching Office 365 Users Broken

@vecerpaI used to do the Dropdown textinput as well, but I heard soon the ComboBox will replace the dropdown, so I'd like to avoid using it.

I believe it must have been a PowerApps update that is causing this problem.

I tried to push PA for answer via Twitter, but still no update. Seems like PA team has plenty  of work with spring update. Hope they will fix it soon.

It is second time combobox is making me trouble.

Re: ComboBox Searching Office 365 Users Broken

We're aware of this issue. We expect to fix the support for API-like data sources (such as Office365Users) in ComboBox control in a release that should go public in the second half of April.

Hello flipcritic,

This functinoality should be publicly available. Try to re-publish your app and let me know if you see any problems.
