Connecting Sharepoint list to Calendar

Hello All,

I am building a Leave Request app where an approved request automatically creates a calendar event for the duration of the leave request. My question refers to changes made to the request to reflect on the calendar.

Say I initially requested leave from the 4th to the 7th of a given month and my manager approves it. But, later, I realize I also need the 8th to complete whatever I plan on doing and update my request and my manager approves again. Now, there are two events (one from 4th to the 7th and the other from 4th to the 8th) on the calendar under my name. Can we sync both these up using the ID of the sharepoint list? Please let me know if you need any more information on what I am trying to do

Thanks in advance
Surya

Re: Connecting Sharepoint list to Calendar

Hi @sgundavarapu,

This can be achieved by add these SharePoint lists as new data sources to the app. Then use Patch function to update the records to SharePoint list. The formula should be something like below:

Patch(ListName,Defaults(ListName),{Title:Label1.Text, ChoiceSmiley Very Happyropdown1.Selected,...})

Re: Connecting Sharepoint list to Calendar

Hi @v-monli-msft

Thanks for taking the time to respond to me but I believe there was some misunderstanding. I was trying to update the calendar event and I believe the Sharepoint list update takes care of itself since the user would be editing the same request and not a new one.

And, for those of you who are looking for a response for what I initially asked for, I believe I found a way to do exactly that and it's been working for a while now. I created a column called CalendarID on sharepoint, and after approval, I check if the calendarID is empty, if so, I create the calendar event and push the ID to sharepoint to store it. If the user makes changes to his/her request and the manager approves again, then, the calendarID is not empty and I update that event using the calendarID.
