Convert Added Image Media String to be saved as Image in SharePoint

Hi there,

I am trying to add a picture in my app via "Add Image" and send the added/taken picture to SharePoint.

First of all, I add the picture to a collection and instead of a picture, it saves a string. Something like this: "appres://blobmanager/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/xxxxxxxxxxxx/x".

Previously I was using Camera and, with Flow help, I managed to save Camera.Photo to Sharepoint, but I wasn't able to find a way to convert the "Add Image" media code into URI or something.

Can someone tell me how can I convert this string, in app or using flows, to add the added/taken picture to my SharePoint folder?

Best regards!

Hi @AdrianMitroiu,

Do you want to upload a image into SP library using Add Picture control within an app?

The user @SimonMeadows has faced same issue with you, please check my response within the following thread:

You can use Microsoft Flow to convert the string and save it in SharePoint

This is a youtube tutorial that gives step by step instructions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6xMLprDTjU

Hope it helps Smiley Happy

@Sofie_D, thank you for your replay.

Unfortunately I already seek the solution in that tutorial but it doesn't apply in my case.

Paul, the tutorial creator, actually says that he desn't know how to manage the format saved by "Add Image" media.

Any other idea?

Thanks.

Re: Convert Added Image Media String to be saved as Image in SharePoint

Thanks a lot guys.

I managed to solve my problem using this blog : http://johnliu.net/blog/2018/7/the-simplest-no-code-solution-to-save-pictures-files-from-powerapps-t....

The other blogs and videos are not compatible with the current version of powerapps anymore or I am to slow minded to understand how to change the json APIs in order to use them on my case.

But "cheating" with flow editor apperently worked just fine for me.

Thank you again for your time.
