Dropdown doesn't show values randomly in Published apps, when I return to edit no errors show

Hi

I'm hoping to get some help from you guys!

I've got a constant niggle with my apps where when published users will report all is working well and as expected, then randomly, all dropdowns in the app will stop displaying values for all users. These dropdowns are referring back to a Sharepoint List

When I go into the app to edit, the only issues shown on the app checker are accessibility issues which I work on after initial user acceptance.

I've found to rectify, I must delete any character in the ITEMS property, rekey that single character, save and republish, then it works again.

Any clues to where I may have missed something?!?

Re: Dropdown doesn't show values randomly in Published apps, when I return to edit no errors show

Hi @HendosMark ,

Can you please share the formula in the Items property of this dropdown control? Is this Dropdown control existing inside a Form control or it is a standalone control? Have you made sure that that SharePoint list is added as one of the data sources in this app? Does the users has the proper permission on that SharePoint list?

Regards,

Mona

Re: Dropdown doesn't show values randomly in Published apps, when I return to edit no errors show

Hi Mona

Thanks for getting back!

So to answer your questions:

- Items property of a dropdown control - an example would be =Choices('SharepointListName'.ColumnContainingData) i.e. =Choices('Property Damage Log'.Position). All dropdowns have a similar setup

- Standalone or In Form - These are all contained within an EditForm

- Sharepoint - The EditForm was created from the Sharepoint List when I added the form control, so everything was created by Powerapps

- Permissions - Yes, all users have access ok, just very intermittent fault with apps I have found.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Mark

Re: Dropdown doesn't show values randomly in Published apps, when I return to edit no errors show

Hi Mona

Just some more info on this:

The same issue has happened again to me, but I can recreate the trigger.

When I am in Powerapps Studio, and I refresh my connection to my Powerapp (new items added to list for testing), I get RUNTIME ERRORS for all dropdowns on all forms stating either:

"The data source supplied to the function is invalid" - Most common

"An error occured on the server. Server response: Not a valid connector Error Response" linked to "The requested operation is invalid. Server Response: Exception from HRESULT: xxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Again I can select each error in turn, delete a single character in the ITEMS formula, rekey and it works. As soon as I refresh the connection, I get those runtime error messages again

Thanks

Mark
