Error when changing layout to horizontal

Hello all,

I generated a PowerApp based on a SharePoint list.  So I have at the moment a default (auto generated) browse screen, display screen and edit screen.

On the display screen, the fields are too many for the screen height so I changed the layout to horizontal.  Now the fields fit nicely but I have the yellow triangle on my screen with an error message reading "Expected an operator (....".   If I change back to vertical layout, error dissapears.

I am unable to tell which field / control has the error - how do I verify this?

Then also, how do I solve this?  I don't why something done by PowerApps itself would generate an error.

Many thanks

Re: Error when changing layout to horizontal

I just tries this by going into the settings and changing my app from portrait to landscape and I didn't get any errors. I switched it back and still no errors but some of my controls got moved around and I had to move them back into place.

Did you click on the yellow triangle? Normally when you do that it will show the property/formula bar for the control that is causing the issue. Then you click into the formula bar and it will show you the errors with red squiggly lines.

Re: Error when changing layout to horizontal

Hi Jeff,

Thank you.

I did click on the yellow triangle - it shows a formula for generating an X value.  So that part of your answer defnitely helps me thank you - I wasn't sure if the formula displayed actually does relate to the yellow triangle.

It might be something to do with the locale on my machine - I don't use , or ; like you would expect.   For example in Excel, I have to use ; instead of a comma.  I saw that this impacts PowerApps as well.

I fixed it by just dragging all my controls around so I guess that overrides to the formula that calculates X / Y values so the yellow traingle dissapeared.

Just as a test, I switched my screen back to vertical layout and again horizontal layout and I got the same error.  Fixed it again by dragging controls around to override X/ Y values.

What's still confusing to me is seeing easily what field / control is selected, especially when you click a yellow traingle icon.

Thanks for the help.
