How to create a new Sales Order record in D365 for Operations ?

Hi Experts,

I want to generate a new Sales Order in D365 for Finance and Operations. My entity is using automatic number sequence. How can I push a new record from PowerApp to D365 without specifying the number sequence as it is created by D365 and not PowerApp.

The Server side field is not necessary when submitting new records from PowerApps.

You could build an App from the New Sales Order entity directly, and use the Editform to Add a new record.

For how to work with forms in PowerApps, see:

Understand data forms in Microsoft PowerApps

Please note that when submitting new records, all the required fields (expect the fields managed by the server ) need t obe inputted with a valid value.

Another way is to use Patch () function:

Patch function in PowerApps

Just for future reference, there is a PowerApps connector for D365 Finance and Operations which allows exposure to the SalesOrderHeadersV2 and SalesOrderLines tables

How can I assign the sales order number when creating a new record?

I get the error when trying to set manually from the form: "Could not schedule SetValue for property SalesOrderNumber: update access to poperty not granted"
