How to make a form to add data to a linked sharepoint list

I have a powerapps form which is linked to my sharepoint list, and i would like to know how to create the for so that data entered into the form will be added to the sharepoint list. The list contains 5 fields, 2 of which are dates and one is a drop-down.

Have you tried creating the app from the data?

If you are not interested in doing that, then all you need to do is add an Edit form. You will also have to add all the buttons necessary.

Note: you might try making the app from the Sharepoint list to see what PowerApps will do for you/require in order for your app to work.

Re: How to make a form to add data to a linked sharepoint list

Hi @neils,

Please first start by the following article:

Understand Forms in PowerApps

Edit and Display Form in PowerApps

Basically, the EditForm should have the following property configured:

1. DataSource property: SharePointList

2. DefaultMode property: FormMode.New

If you would like to create new records to SharePoint list.

Besides, if you would like to update existing record, then the following property should be configured:

1. DataSource property: SharePointList

2. DefaultMode property: FormMode.Edit

3. Item property: The corresponding Record within the SharePoint List

As @AMerrill suggested, you may first get started by creating an App from the SharePoint data directly:

Generate App from SharePoint list data

Michael
