Model-driven app - restrict view of records

Hi,

I have created a model-driven app. What should I do to restrict access to records to only those created by the user and its team members?

I thought it was through the Security Roles, but I have failed to activate the right settings. Currently a user can see all records from the organization, edit them and delete them.

I have created teams with members and business units and security roles.

The model-driven app is based on two related entities on which the security role is set as follow

I had initially set up a filter to only show records owned by the user, but thought there was a better way of doing that.

Any help to point me in the right direction will be appreciated.

Thanks

David

Re: Model-driven app - restrict view of records

Hi @DavG ,

Did you mean that you want to restrict the users to only access the records that they created by themselves in CDS entity? If so, then according to the documentation below, the users should be given with the Common Data Service User security role only.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/database-security

Re: Model-driven app - restrict view of records

Hi,

Thanks for the reply @v-monli-msft and sorry for the late response.

I changed the privileges of the entities to "Business Unit" for read permission, so users can also what others within the same business unit are requesting. However, I had understood that a user, member of a team would also see what other team members are requesting.

I couldn't get team members to also view what others created.
